F-1 international students should not withdraw from MUSC classes without first speaking with the Designated School Official (DSO) in the Center for Global Health about the consequences of this action. An F-1 student who has obtained authorization from a DSO priorto withdrawing from classes will be allowed a 15-day grace period to depart from the United States. An F-1 student who drops below a full course of study or withdraws from classes without prior DSO approval has violated his/her F-1 status and is not eligible for a departure grace period.
